Description
The Restomod build on this 1970 Firebird started in 2016 and was finished in 2019. Everything was purchased new for this build and the stack of receipts is an inch thick This car retains a mostly old school muscle car interior and body yet it has been rebuilt with the best modern day race car technology available. The fabrication to mechanically transform this car to what it is today is extremely well done. The work to transform this car was done byMuscle Express in Jupiter Fl. They have restored many classics and restomods over the last 30 years. Here are the details of the build.
The engine is a GM LT4 which produces 650HP, the transmision is a 6 speed Tremec unit, the rear is a Detroit Speed Quadra Link Ford 9inch rear that has been tubbed.
The subframe is a powder coated Detroit Speed Coil Over unit that has been fitted with a 6 piston, 14 inch rotor Baer brake system, they are in the rear also.
The rims are Boze Pro-Touring and the tires are made by Goodrich, the sizes are P335/30ZR-18 and P275/35ZR-18
Many other modern day features were added as well. This car has a Vintage Air system that blows ice cold, it has a set of Pro Series Universal Sport High Back front seats and it has Premium GM 3 pt. Conversion Seat Belts. The stereo system was also upgraded , it is Blue Tooth and Satelite ready, fit with a 4 channel power amp with 2 premium 4x8s' in the front and 6x9s' in the rear. A custom Leather Roll Bar was also fabricated into this build and the front portion can be removed if needed. Power windows were also installed. The dash pad has also been custom wrapped in Leather.
The engine compartment is also equipped with the following. There is a Detroit Speed brake booster and master cylider with a 9 in. dual diaphram and a C & R dual fan aluminum radiator. There is also a Killer Chiller system installed that can be activated or de-activated by a switch on the dash. There is also a set of Billet hood hinges in place
The exhaust system is a 3 in. custom Dynamax stainless steel system that is routed over the axle. The headers are ceramic coated black by Ultimate. The gas tank is also stainless steel and made by Ricks. This car was run on a Dyno and produced 604HP to the rear wheels. Needless to say, this car is scary fast and not for the faint of heart.
The original floors were stripped clean during this build and were coated with ceramic Lizzard Skin to work as both a sound deadener and interior heat shield. The original floors were in mint condition and I have pictures should anyone want to see them.
The car comes with all invoices and receipts which total just under 225K. Inspections are welcome and the car is on a lift. The car is located in Palm Beach Gardens Fl. For any other questions or copy of the Dyno feel free to call anytime before 8pm EST.
