ound by a diver on a night dive in 45 feet of water, Tasmania Island, Australia, 2020.  There is something about Australia that just causes a shell collector's eyes to glow with wonder and envy---I mean, when you read about all the great shells found there, wow!  Why do I mention Australia?  Well, I didn't know until I wrote this listing that Tasmania is an Australian state, huh.  Don't complain about my lack of knowledge when it comes to world geography though, because I grew up in Hawaii, and most folks who visited there didn't know it was an American state either, so I know it can happen, oh yeah, I know.  Now then,
talpas
are found in Hawaii too, but like money cowries, they are rarely found there, and seeing how few talpas come onto the market from Tasmania, my guess is that finding one there is rather terrific too!

As for normal disclaimers, we do the best we can with photos, but color is tricky, especially since cell phone cameras automatically lean towards flesh-tone coloring, (that's why so many of the photos of shells on eBay show up with more orange than is really there, the camera changes the color, and damm if I can figure out how to stop that from happening, but I try, honest!
