Nice shell live collected by shell diver off Kangaroo Island, South Australia at depth 23 meters in 2007.
Fully mature, super colored, heavy shell with perfect canals.
There is overglazed tiny dust grain nearly invisible on the back , otherwise GEM.
Shell has
typical
for population of Kangaroo Island picture on the back - bigger dark dots in comparing with shells from Thorny Passage area.
Shells from this location have very distinct pattern on the back.
ADVANCED ZOILA COLLECTORS MUST HAVE BOTH FORMS.
Impossible to get this specie in this size and such a nice conditions in modern days. There are no more official shell divers in South Australia. Moreover - Kangaroo Island is Marine Park now - no collecting.
